HOST BEST IN THE WEST CARNIVAL FOR SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES

March 26, 2009 – One community. One great cause. Nouveau Riche and the Frank Edward Piccolo Foundation rounded up over 75 volunteers to help host seriously ill children and their families at the upcoming Best of the West Carnival on Saturday, April 4, to benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation Arizona.

Set in the beautiful Sonoran desert at the rustic MacDonald’s Ranch in Scottsdale, the event will feature hay wagon rides to the carnival site; game booths, including lasso roping, penny pitching, cowboy hat toss, and stick-horse racing; square dancing with a dance instructor; a strolling cowboy singer; a magic show; caricature drawing; face painting; Earl Grey the trick pony; and pony rides. A barbeque, snow cones and cotton candy will complete the festivities.

Starlight Children’s FoundationTM was founded in 1983 to help seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities. Starlight’s programs have been proven to distract children from their pain, help them better understand and manage their illnesses, and connect families facing similar challenges so that no one feels alone. Last year, Starlight Children’s Foundation Arizona touched the lives of more than 50,000 children and their families statewide.
